Thursday's Breakin' Convention 2010 diary with Jonzi D features an quick chat with Leo from Via Grafik, who are responsible for transforming Sadler's Wells' back wall into an enormous canvas.

Jonzi also had a moment to catch up with Suga Pop and have a quick chat about the Greg Campbellok tribute, which takes place in Monday's show.

Breakin Convention video diary 3 - Future Elements

I wasn't about for the third part of the Breakin' Convention 2010 video diary, but for this video Jonzi was prepping the dancers for Future Elements (Thursday night).



Future Elements is where the kids get to 'run tings' as community groups get to perform ahead of the main festival in the Lilian Baylis theatre.

Breakin' Convention video diary 2 - Graffiti with Via Grafik

It's day two in the lead up to Breakin' Convention 2010. The graffiti writers have arrived, and they're preparing to transform Sadler's Wells into an enormous canvas.



André Nossek aka SLAVE (left) and Leo Volland aka BOE (right), collectively known as Via Grafik, joined Jonzi D by the back wall of Sadler's Wells which will be transformed into an enormous graffiti mural.

The mezzanine has been altered significantly to fit in the rigging in order for the back wall to get painted, and will span from the mezzanine to the second circle.

All it takes is the glances of a few passers by looking at the Breakin' Convention 2010 poster and it makes you realise the impact it has had over the years, particularly since So You Think You Can Dance, and the retrospective envy I feel because TooMuchFlavour hadn't been about to keep a record of things since its inception...

In Jonzi D's Breakin Convention Diary today its all about setting the scene. Over the weekend some of the newspapers picked up on it, so its like this episode continues from what you saw on Sunday...

So what have we been up to today?

Well all the old tiles had to come up and make way for the dance floor (coming soon). Daddy has been painting as always and I started the tiles in the bathroom... there are so many to put up!

He he.... The day was cut short by our company rehearsals... well...

Earlier in the day I had brought my TV over with all the extras including my Wii, so rehearsals turned into a Mario Kart session.

Also, we had the mirrors delivered!

Working my arse off as always, been tidying and painting more.

Now: the office was crap, so I tried moving it all around and my old desk decided to fall apart... Boooo! So early this morning I ventured to Ikea and got some more furniture (you'll see in the video)...

We've been working non stop and I feel like we've done loads...

Finally getting rid of that ugly ceiling, the plaster board has started to go up in the lobby for now... more to follow!

My lovely father has been painting like mad throughout the building... It's mad how a bit of paint can make such a huge difference!

The most exciting bit is that the partition frame is up and ready to be boarded. Donato, my multi-talented friend has built a frame for the doors into the studio. It's strange because you can walk through the partition but the doorway is closed! He he.

I feel like I'm in full throttle mode now, so hopefully you'll be seeing loads of progress every day...

So.... all the lights are up, so I'm happy! The wood showed up for the partition so I cracked on with that and made a good start. Got most of the support beams up with the help of Leon (to get the top ones up) but now I'm retiring for the day to have a much needed sleep!

I know I keep saying it but I'm getting so exhausted.

Still doing the lights... very annoyed... a certain merchant gave me the wrong cable and so I had to rip it all down and start again with new cable... Pissed! But did they take the old cable back? NOPE.

Had some of the youth crew come and help again as well as the family!... They cracked on with the painting and general tidying up.

The video is later in the day... Basically today I've been boarding up windows all throughout the hall to stop people seeing in and of course save some money on the heating bills! Hehe!

Today was the first day that I actually started to feel like this is really happening... and I'm not gonna lie I'm scared... in two years time I'll either be bankrupted or a millionaire... Fingers crossed for the latter!
